Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay was born on August 24 1972 at Long Beach California. DuVernay was encouraged to pursue her love of the arts by her aunt Denise at the age of a small kid. Her aunt, a night-shift nurse, allowed her to study literature for art as well as theater during daylight hours. She introduced DuVernay the 1961 film West Side Story and DuVernay became enthralled by the film. DuVernay was instructed by her mom that the arts can serve to engage people. DuVernay was taught to be socially conscious by her mother. DuVernay was a resident of Compton during the majority of her life, but was able to spend summers with her extended family members living in Lowndes County Alabama. Her father was a witness to the historic march of Civil Rights Movement over the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It was located in Selma Alabama, a neighboring city. Her summers in Selma, Alabama would be the inspiration for her later an animated film on Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay received her graduation certificate in Saint Joseph High School, Lakewood California in 1990. In 1990, she was a graduate of Saint Joseph High school in Lakewood California. DuVernay began producing for the broadcast industry while she was still at university. She began her career as an assistant for CBS News in the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalled being instructed to look at the trash of the home of a juror. When she was dissatisfied with journalistic work by the assignments she was assigned, DuVernay decided to pursue the field of publicity. DuVernay found a job immediately after college as a young publicist for a studio. Her private PR company, The DuVernay Agency was created in 1999. In addition to PR her agency also launched several social media and lifestyle networks, including Urban Beauty Collective, the Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective, Urban Eye and HelloBeautiful.
