Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23, 1970. Cordelia Chase was a character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer's supernatural thriller series (1997-1999), and the spin-off series Angel (1999-04). Also, she starred as Kyra in Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablanca's character on Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell in The Lying Game (2012-2013) as well as Lacy in The Expendables film series (2010-2012). Carpenter was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter has Spanish, French, and German descent (from her maternal grandfather). Carpenter was a student at the Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas; she was also a member of a dance and song group that was a part of the Las Vegas Valley when she was nine years old.When Carpenter was 15, her family relocated to Rosario Beach, Baja California, Mexico and then to San Diego, California. She was a student at Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Following graduation, Carpenter traveled throughout Europe. Carpenter returned to San Diego in 1991 and was employed as an aerobics instructor and videostore clerk as well as a property manager. She was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football club in 1991. In 1992, she relocated to Los Angeles.While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male colleagues were assaulted by Henry Hubbard Jr., who was a former San Diego police officer and serial rapist who attempted to subdue them at gunpoint. Both of her friends and Hubbard were both shot during the fight. Hubbard fled the scene but both of her companions survived. Hubbard was convicted and sentenced to a 56-year in prison for a series of rapes and robberies. Carpenter had brought Hubbard his flashlight from the police station on the beach. The flashlight was left at the scene. This flashlight became an important piece of evidence against Hubbard.
