Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born on September 5, 1973, is an American actress. After making her film debut with an uncredited role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan received more attention for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. McGowan made her debut in the horror movie Scream in 1996. Later, she was the main character in Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998), and Going All the Way (1997). McGowan was best known for her performance in Charmed the supernatural drama series on WB from 2001 until 2006. McGowan was also a mainstay in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) in which she received nominations for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. The album was followed by a re-release of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was named the Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. The award honors McGowan's efforts to combat sexual harassment and sexual assault especially in relation to Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual assault as well as the Me Too movement. Brave is her memoir. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both of these were released in 2018.
